Cliff Notes:
- Windows 10 is cool
- Wifi recognizes networks and connects to any and all networks for the first few minutes after startup
- Wifi drops off after the first 20-30 minutes and cannot be reconnected
- Computer must be restarted to reconnect
- Wash, rinse, repeat
TLDR Version:
I've been so excited to try the next iteration of Windows, so excited that I ignored the sage advice of my peers and upgraded my home desktop almost immediately! I like the new look, love the new snap controls, like the way everything is going to a mobile inspired format.
I am, however, having some issues. This, the internet connection issue is the most pressing so I will address it first. I kept my workhorse laptop on Windows 8.1 so that I am able to diagnose and discuss the issues on my Desktop, which I use primarily for fun.
Xbox One Controller Driver For Mac
Dec 27, 2012 I spent hours reloading drivers and rebooting. The best solution was when I got a refund and bought a new product that was a true Plug-n-Play. I bought Wireless High Power USB adapter by EnGenius.
After startup the wifi card on my desktop recognizes and connects to any of the wifi networks in the house. I am able to surf using any app, browser, or program. I use google chrome, steam, starcraft II, OneNote, and a bunch of other programs that appear to work upon connection. I admit I have not had time to use anything other than the browsers because the time constraints of this issue but suffice it to say that I can use my browsers and there is no doubt that they connect to netflix, facebook, etc. Also I don't think that I have any weird apps or security programs could be blocking the connection.
Just like it says in the summary of my post I get great wifi connection anywhere from two minutes to a half hour after connection and then the connection drops. The PC does not allow me to reconnect until I restart my PC.

- D-Link DWA-552 XtremeN Desktop Adapter (Driver is up to date)

Solutions Attempted:
- Reboot :)
- Troubleshooting and diagnosing the networks
- Resetting the network adapter
- Uninstalling the wireless driver
- Updating the driver (already up to date though I fear this is the heart of the issue, as there is probably not a Windows 10 compatible driver yet)
- One link online suggested checking to make sure that the IPV4 and IPV6 settings were checked on the wireless properties (they were checked)
- One link online suggested I open Command Prompt and type a string of gibberish along the lines of HKCLRSID... etc. and though I can't find the link now trust me whenI say that I checked and rechecked to make sure the command line was correct and that I tried several other variations suggested by other users. No Dice
